ADHD Brain and Body Connection Retreat:

Getting to know Candice

Candice Kaup, MS is an Exercise Therapist, Certified Integrative Health Practitioner, and Certified High Performance Health Coach devoted to helping others strengthen the mind-body connection and add life to their years, not just years to their life. After beginning her career in a Washington, D.C. law firm, Candice switched career paths when she discovered her true passion for wellness. She pursued her master’s degree in Exercise, Fitness, and Health Promotion from George Mason University, graduating Summa Cum Laude and earning multiple fellowships and awards for her research and academic excellence.

Candice is the founder of On The Move, where she provides personalized exercise therapy services, instructs classes, conducts integrative health coaching, and serves as a researcher and health advocate for clients dealing with health challenges. Candice empowers individuals to take charge of their physical and mental well-being. Her approach blends science and empathy, helping clients understand how movement, nutrition, stress, sleep, and mindset work together to enhance brain health and overall performance.

The trajectory of Candice’s life and work shifted profoundly after the loss of her father in 2021. Navigating the depths of grief led her to further explore the intricate relationship between the brain and body, and how emotional healing and physiological balance intertwine. Through this transformative period, Candice pursued advanced training under Dr. Stephen Cabral to become a Certified Integrative Health Practitioner and Certified High Performance Health Coach. This experience fueled her mission to guide others in uncovering the root causes of imbalance and reclaiming their vitality—physically, mentally, and emotionally. She investigates the interrelationship of a client’s eating habits, exercise patterns, stress, toxicity levels, nervous system regulation, sleep, emotional balance and mindset, and supplement regimen. After gauging an understanding of these factors, Candice takes a solution-oriented approach to help clients identify underlying deficiencies and toxicities to best guide them on a path toward improved physical and mental health.

A lifelong learner and health advocate, Candice never stops reading and studying to expand her knowledge base. Candice lives in Arlington, VA, with her husband, Bill, and their youngest son, who is a high school senior. She also has twins who are recent graduates of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and now live in Raleigh, NC, and nearby in Arlington. Known for her warmth and genuine connection with others, Candice is often described as a “people person” and a devoted caretaker to her family, friends, and clients. Outside of her work, she enjoys spending time outdoors, exploring new restaurants, meeting new people, and sharing meaningful moments with loved ones.
